The Town of Amherst has a Representative Town Meeting, consisting of 240 elected Town Meeting members, 24 from each of 10 precincts, plus ex officio members. The Annual Town Meeting begins April 27, 2005. A Special Town Meeting is usually held beginning the last Monday in October.
